Porgy and Bess Reassessed

The final event in the 2022 Charleston Literary Festival offers perspectives on Gershwin’s seminal opera from author Geoffrey Harpham, whose new book is entitled Citizenship on Catfish Row; soprano Alyson Cambridge, who performed as Bess at the 2016 Spoleto festival; and historian Harlan Greene, the Scholar in Residence at the College of Charleston.
