A delightful, neglected musical from 1925 that revolves around the romantic entanglements of three couples, TELL ME MORE features yet another score filled with the Jazz Age sensibilities of the Gershwin brothers. 1925 was a busy year for George and Ira, with the premieres of two other Gershwin musicals on Broadway and the debut of George’s CONCERTO IN F. The lack of a breakout hit or stars of the caliber of Fred and Adele Astaire may have limited the success of TELL ME MORE on Broadway, but the show had a very successful run in London, with little structural change. Restored under the auspices of the Ira and Leonore Gershwin Trusts and the Library of Congress, TELL ME MORE made its full recording debut in 2001 when it was released on the New World Records label.
